Ministry of Labor UAE Visa Cancellation
The Ministry of Labor UAE Visa Cancellation process is basically under the supervision of the company’s employer that offers you a job in the first place. They will arrange the cancellation of your residential visa and the work permit when you are about to leave the workplace or the country. The visa cancellation process includes the dissolution of the bank accounts affiliated with the company, returning the credit cards given by the company, subscription for telephones and other utilities offered by the company to the employee. Visa Cancellation Grace Period:
After the cancellation of your residence visa, you will have approximately 30 days to exit the country. Otherwise, you will be fined almost 25 dirhams per day for the first six months. The fine will gradually increase as your days of stay will increase. You can check the visa cancellation grace period of the place you are living. It is rational to leave the country under this grace period of 30 days, or else the law enforcement agencies can and will bankrupt you with the fines.
If the company’s employer denies your visa cancellation petition, then you have rights on your side to file a complaint against the company at the Disputes Department of the Ministry of Labor UAE.

Ministry of Labor UAE Labor Law
The employer will pay a sick fee to the employee at 100 percent of the employee’s daily wage for the first ten days of sick leave in a year. Fifty percent for the next 20 workdays in the same year or 12 month period. After that, the employee shall not receive any further wages. If the sick leaves reach 60 days, the employer will have the authority to terminate the worker’s contract with immediate effect.
Penalties on late payment:
The new Law regarding the penalties on late payments limits the application of the late fines for not paying salaries or settlements within a period. Now penalties will only be due if the amount is due and not paid to the employee is held by a court. The late payment penalty will be waived off by the court if the employee’s case is unreasonable. Moreover, lousy conduct can also get your hands off of the money.
The end of service settlements or pension is paid under newly introduced laws. According to the new law employee’s basic salary for the calculation of the end of service settlement will not be less than 50 percent of the employee’s annual salary package (excluding the bonuses, commissions, and grants). According to this Law, the gratuity or end of service settlements is to be paid even when the employee has been terminated.
Agreement for settlement:
An employee may renounce any right, remedy, obligation, claim, or action under this Law by entering into a written contract with their employer to terminate their employment or resolve a dispute. And the employee is allowed to receive independent legal advice from a licensed practitioner as to the terms and effect of the written agreement.
According to the new DIFC Employment Law, an employer is not allowed to retrieve from an employee any loss or expenses incurred during the process of recruitment of that employee unless the employee terminates the working contract for any other reason within six months of the beginning of the employment.
An employee will be given a 15 days paternity leave if he has been employed for 12 months in the company.
According to the new law, and practice of prejudice to the employee’s sex, marital status, race, nationality, maternity, religion, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability is prohibited. If any employee faces discrimination and proves it, then the DIFC court can grant compensation to the employee double the employee’s annual wage.

Ministry of Labor UAE Complaint Process
The Ministry of Labor UAE complaint process is a transparent and convenient procedure. The complaints go through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization UAE. Once the claim is registered, the respective department considers the issue. It communicates with you and the party that you have filed a complaint against.
The ways you can register a complaint through MOHRE are as follows:
Through MOHRE Call Centre:
- Contact MOHRE on their official number to let them know your issue. i.e. +971-4-607-3555
- The operator will solve all of your queries and give you the information about registering your complaint.
- If they will not be able to consider the issues you will have, it will be forwarded to the Department of Complaint and Advise.
- If your issues will be resolved there, the case will be considered as closed.
- If not, the in-charge will guide you through registering an official complaint against the people responsible.
Through Tasheel Service Centre:
- Contacting the Tasheel Centre is another way to file your complaint in no time.
- Visit the nearest Tasheel Service Centre in your area.
- Bring all the legal and essential documents during your visit.
- The materials that are required are your visa and the labor contract.
- Tasheel Centre will get your company’s details and number as well as your work permit number.
- After registering the complaint, you will be given two days to resolve the issue.
- If it is unresolved after two days, you can decide whether you want to continue the complaint.
- After that, MOHRE will make a call to you and tell you about the appointment so that you can keep and put forward your claim.
MOHRE Online Complaint Option:
Another way to file a complaint is through the online complaint service by MOHRE.
- Log on to the MOHRE website
- Go to the option that says “Register Labor Complaints.”
- Click on “Start Service” icon on the right side of the tab
- Select “Complaint Type”
- Enter all the information required, i.e., Applicant type, Work permit Number and Unified Number
- Add complaint Request Details
- Then submit the complaint
- You will get a response from their side mostly within ten working days
MOHRE Process for Settling the Work Dispute:
When you are done filing your complaint through one of the three ways given above, the MOHRE will help you resolve your issue and put forward the charge.
After the complaint has been recorded and considered, you will be issued a complaint number. The MOHRE employee handling your charge will communicate with you. The other party against the complaint is filed over the phone. If your dispute is settled over the phone, then your case will be considered closed in the MOHRE system. If not, you will be given the appointment to visit the MOHRE headquarter to discuss the matter further. Then the department will investigate both parties to help them conclude. Even after all that, if your reconciliation fails, then your complaint will be referred to the court of jurisdiction. The department of Work Relations will be taking the case further from this point.
